Think globally and acting locally means to think about the issue and how it impacts the world, but to think about how it also impacts where you live and what you can do to help bring awareness to this is issue or help to solve the issue. Body image doesn’t just specifically target a place like Chicago, but targets individuals. The University of Chicago has started a project called ‘The Body Project’ that encourages students love their bodies. The University host workshops in which students can learn to have a positive body image through verbal, written, and behavior exercises. People can partner with this organization in order to help encourage others and to spread what they have learned to others.
According to University of Chicago, “74.4% of the normal-weight women and 46% of normal-weight men stated that they thought about their weight or appearance “all the time” or “frequently.”’[1]
